The writers of this website are residents of Tucson, Arizona, which is located in the Sonoran Desert and all students at Empire High School. After taking the Sonoran Desert Ecology class at our high school, we learned about the importance and diversity of this fragile ecosystem, and were astonished after going into the class thinking there was nothing special about this hot, “lifeless” place. If we were thinking of the Sonoran Desert in this way, then other people may also think of it in that way. The purpose of this website was to make people know the truth about the Sonoran Desert by giving basic overviews and discussing the organisms that are native to this environment. The information that we have published in this website are all things that we have learned from the class.
